AVA's Live Storytelling Event
The Mudroom at AVA Gallery and Art Center is where the Upper Valley comes alive through story. This lively quarterly event invites community members to step into the spotlight and share true, personal tales inspired by a seasonal theme — stories that are funny, fearless, tender, and unforgettable.
Want to join in? Watch for the call for storytellers and submit your story in advance, take your chances by adding your name to the hat the night of the event, or simply grab a seat and enjoy an evening filled with laughter, connection, and surprise. The Mudroom celebrates the power of authentic storytelling, creating space for shared experiences that spark laughter, reflection, and meaningful community connection.
How It Works
Stories are limited to around 10 minutes, must be true and autobiographical, and must be told live—not read! The Mudroom is an incredibly supportive venue for live storytelling.
What to Do
Pitch us the actual story you plan to tell. Give us a sense of the story arc and how your story affected you. Please send your story submission and short bio to sheryl@avagallery.org. If you're selected, you'll be asked to attend a rehearsal get together.
