Artist Talks
Each year AVA presents the work of more than two dozen working artists. As often as we can, we invite artists to present their work to the public—in a presentation or discussion format. Artists are invited to use their time to explore their process, materials, research, and what has taken then to produce a body of work that holds together. Typically free and open to the public.
Gatherings
We're always looking for ways to help people meet each other in fun, new ways. From one of a kind "make and take" sessions to community building crafting circles, AVA is a platform for people to connect, learn, and make new things together. Keep on the lookout for gatherings hosted by artists in their studios or special events hosted in our Sculptural Studies Building.
Meetups
A growing number of self-organized groups use AVA to host community meetups. These include the Upper Valley Photographers, local writers groups, a weekly fiber arts meetup, and most recently, a weekend Repair Clinic. Meetups are free to most groups as long as they are aligned with AVA's mission to contribute to well-being in the Upper Valley through the arts.
Happenings
We love a good art happening—from dance parties to big interactive art projects, AVA is a flexible platform for experiences of all kinds. And we're open to learning how to put our galleries, classrooms, and common areas to higher, better, and more exciting uses that respond to artistic vision, community engagement, and memorable experiences.
