LIFELONG LEARNING THROUGH CREATIVITY

At AVA we believe that creativity is play that becomes art.

At AVA, education isn't a ladder you climb. It's a door you walk through. We offer hundreds of classes and workshops across every medium we can get our hands on — painting, drawing, ceramics, metalwork, sculpture, printmaking, jewelry, fiber, glass, and more — for learners from age five to ninety-five and every year in between.

Some students come to master a craft, others come to quiet the mind. Some came because a friend dragged them here one Tuesday night and they found themselves suddenly surprised, smiling at the wonder of whitespace in watercolor. And each of these reasons is the right reason. Instructors at AVA are working artists who believe that making things with your hands isn't a luxury—it's a human need. And they'll meet you wherever you're at: first time adventurer or seasoned practitioner, tentative or fearless, five or fifty years old. The studios are real, the tools are real, and the invitation is simple: Walk in, pick something up, see what happens. AVA is the Upper Valley's home for creative life, and there's a seat at the bench with your name on it.
