Introduction to Natural Science Illustration

Class limited to 5.

Students will learn to sketch from biological specimens, rendering a plate suitable for reproduction in a traditional scientific illustration technique (likely pen and ink). Specimens may include bone, mineral, plant, fungus, marine creatures — it's up to you! Focus will be on detailed rendering of form and texture to accurately illustrate the object.
