The origami crane has long been a symbol of good luck, love, prosperity and happiness in the Japanese culture, especially when they are made in groups of a thousand. Since WWII, orizuru (paper cranes) have become a symbol of world peace as well. Come learn the ancient art of paper crane folding! In the morning workshops, we will cover the basics. In the afternoons, we will delve deeper into the history and traditions surrounding the folding of paper cranes, including folding multiple cranes from a single sheet of paper and forming single cranes into beautiful chains for display.
