Beginning Portrait Drawing

The success of a portrait depends upon an understanding of the basic geometry underlying the head and face. This course for beginners will review the core principles as you draw them. We will refer to AVA's resident skeleton as well as work from casts and model for one another. We will analyze great works by Velásquez, Picasso, Rembrandt, Lucian Freud, and others to reinforce the fact that all great portraits have as their basis a knowledge of the structure beneath.
