The goal of this program is to create an exhibition by artists who claim particular religious affiliations or spiritual identities and desire to engage their art practices in a pluralistic setting. Participants will meet for group conversations, facilitated by the instructor, a theologian, using the four principles of pluralism: energetically engaging with diversity; actively seeking to understand perspectives across lines of difference; not relying upon relativism, but embracing the encounter of commitments; and involving critical thinking, speaking and listening in respectful discourse. The work that emerges will, hopefully and purposefully, reflect a real encounter of human depth.
