Four 3-hour classes
Tuition: $90 /members; $110 /non-members
This Public Art Project begins with a lecture introducing contemporary installation art and will quickly move
into brainstorming, planning, experimenting, documenting, and constructing a sculptural installation in a public
space. Topics will include how artists of the 21st century joined forces with fields as diverse as biology, physics,
engineering, architecture, and interactive media in order to challenge art in new ways beyond the "traditional"
roles that art has previously played. In keeping with contemporary 'green' art practices, AVA is partnering with
Hartford Community Center for Recycling and Waste Management to utilize the highest-quality recycled materials for
the creation of this Public Artwork. Come learn about contemporary art and help make art a part of everyday life!
