AVA Education

AVA offers a vibrant, year-round art education program for students of all ages, ranging in ability from novice to professional. Classes introduce students to the creative process, teach basic drawing skills, offer students exposure to media ranging from watercolor to sculpture, and allow participants to pursue advanced study in areas like oil painting, printmaking, watercolor painting, and figure drawing and painting. AVA draws on a strong faculty composed of more than 35 nationally and regionally known artists.

If you haven't taken a class at AVA before, you may be in for a surprise. You won't be striving for grades or credits, because there aren't any here. Instead you can expect:

  • freedom to learn in your own style
  • engaged, supportive fellow students with a variety of perspectives
  • the satisfaction and challenge of defining your own goals

Scholarships are also available. Please click here for more information.

Registration / Refund Policy

You may reserve a place in class by phone (603-448-3117), e-mail constance@avagallery.org, or fax (603-448-4827).

However, to be officially enrolled in an AVA class, the tuition must be paid in full. Registrations are accepted in the order in which full payment is received. If necessary, we can set up payment by installment plan.

If AVA has to cancel a scheduled class, then the full amount of tuition will be refunded.

If an enrolled student cancels his/her registration, the following policy is in effect:

  • If a student cancels 14 days prior to a class, a refund will be issued for the full amount of tuition.
  • If a student cancels later than 14 days prior to the first meeting of a class, $50 of the tuition will be forfeited and a refund issued for the remaining balance.
  • If a student cancels after the first class, but before the second class, 50% of the tuition will be refunded.
  • If a student cancels after the second class, he/she forfeits the entire tuition.

All refunds will be issued by check or AVA credit toward another class.
Members receive a significant reduction in tuition fees. In addition, an AVA membership offers early registration privileges. August 17-31 is the priority, members-only, registration period. General public registration begins September 1. Membership is open to all.
March 5-19 is the priority, members-only, registration period. General public registrations begin March 20th. Membership is open to all.
