CAOS for Toddlers (CAT) Starts Friday, September 21!

This free weekly program is from 9:30-11:30am for children 1-4 years old in AVA's Children's Studio.

Caregivers must remain with their toddlers and are expected to help with the clean-up, as AVA does not provide studio monitors for this offering. Materials are provided, and donations are gratefully accepted.

CAOS for Toddlers is made possible thanks to a grant from The Pauline Davenport Children's Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation

ART STOP!

ART STOP! is a free, weekly open studio for students in grades 5-8, held at AVA Gallery and Art Center on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30 to 5:00pm. ART STOP! participants engage with a variety of art materials and repurposed objects while being inspired by the changing exhibitions in AVA’s galleries.

ART STOP! began in September of 2009 when AVA informed the principals at Lebanon Junior High School and Seminary Hill School that students were welcome to drop in after school and make art. That they did! Since then, students have eagerly come to AVA to create art and engage socially.

Thanks to the generosity of the Couch Family Foundation, AVA is able to continue to offer ART STOP! through December 2012.

Birthday Parties at AVA!

Bring dinosaurs and volcanoes to life! Fill the air with kites! Paint, sculpt, make your own costumes. Dance with wolves, firemen or horses! Travel to the stars!

AVA Offers a New Thursday Evening Program:

CAOS for Adults (Community Arts Open Studio – Adults)

Gatherings will take place on the first Thursday of the month and will feature different activities as well as the option of an open studio.

This offering will be specifically for adults 21 + as this is a BYO beer and wine event.

A ten dollar minimum donation is suggested to help cover material costs.

Led by an AVA faculty member, CAOS for Adults is an alternative to the bar scene and will provide an opportunity for young professionals in the area to connect and create in a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Follow the Red Brick Road…

The views from our wonderful building frequently inspire AVA class participants. Over the years, houses in the surrounding neighborhood have been depicted by young and old, in paint and pencil, crayon and marker. This winter, during a sudden snow squall, a young man stood by a window in the South Studio, painting vigorous brushstrokes with white paint on white paper.
