Call for Entries to AVA's 2012 Holiday Salon

This year, AVA’s annual holiday extravaganza will have a new look. The exhibit, to be displayed in the E.N. Wennberg Gallery and Gallery 3, will be a “salon-style” affair; all the artwork will be hung or displayed salon-style! The adjacent spaces—the Rebecca Lawrence Gallery Entry and the Clifford B. West Gallery—will feature The Way We Worked, a Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition exploring America’s work history
(December 15, 2012 – January 27, 2013).

Artwork Delivery Dates:

Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18, 11am-5pm; Monday, November 19, 11am-7pm

Entry Specifications Have Changed. Please Read Carefully:

• Eligibility: Current AVA membership. Membership not current? Join or Renew today! Annual membership is $45 for an individual or $65 for a family.

• Entry Fee: $15 (per artist, not per piece)

• Gallery Commission: AVA retains 40% of sales on artwork. All works must be for sale; in previous years, works priced under $400 have sold especially well.

• No more than one large wall piece (max. 24” x 24”) OR two smaller wall pieces in any medium may be submitted.

• All artwork will be hung or displayed salon-style; please keep this in mind when choosing work to submit.

• Wall pieces must be framed, when appropriate, and wired for hanging. AVA reserves the right to refuse work that is not ready to display.

• Three-dimensional works—including free-standing-pieces, pedestal pieces, and craft items—must be no larger than 36” wide.

• Three-dimensional multiples and shrink-wrapped multiples must be discussed with AVA’s Exhibition Coordinator, Margaret Jacobs, prior to drop-off.

• All submitted shrink-wrapped multiples will be grouped together and replenished as sold.

• Submitted works might not be displayed simultaneously; the exhibit will change as works are sold.
