AVA Artists' Submission Protocol
You can also download a PDF of the Submission Protocol here
If you would like to be considered for an exhibition at AVA, please be sure to include the following information:
- Around 12 Images of Your Work: We will accept slides or
digital images, but digital images are preferred. Please send a CD with
.jpg images that are between 1.5 MB and 5 MB each. Please only send
images that are in focus, with good resolution. If the background/frame
can be cropped out, it would be appreciated. Printed material is also
useful as a supplement to the digital images, as it is sometimes hard to
tell about subtle color and textural variations on a computer. Please do not send original works of art.
- A Slide List: The slide list can be submitted either on
the CD as a Word document, or as a hard copy. Please include all of
the following information for each piece: title, dimensions, medium,
date.
- A Clear Proposal: Please let us know specifically how
you envision using our gallery spaces. If you have not seen the new
spaces, please take some time to visit or request floor plans and
photographs before sending in your proposal. If you have multiple
bodies of work, what would you like to show? Would you be interested in
showing with other artists? If so, do you have anyone in mind? Please
let us know what you are thinking.
- Contact Information: Please include your full name,
address, telephone number, fax, e-mail address and website (whatever is
applicable). Please keep in mind that materials will not be returned.
- Resume: It is helpful for us to know what you have done
in the past, where you have been showing, what teaching experience you
might have, etc.
- Personal/Artist Statement: Please tell us a bit about yourself as an artist, how your work has developed, where you see it going, etc.
If you have any further questions, please contact our Exhibition
