This six-week course will help painters of all levels to better realize their goals for painting, starting from the work’s conception and moving through its technical creation. Personalized instruction will focus on individuals and the projects of their choosing. Group activities will include examining the anatomy of an oil painting, from stretcher bars to varnish. They will also include presentations on the work of contemporary painters, open dialogue on readings, and, for those interested, an investigation into the emerging relationship between Photoshop and painting.
