We will use fabric as the underlying material, providing structure, color, and texture for making wall hangings, quilts, banners, and free-standing sculpture. We will draw upon traditions of West African story quilts and medieval European tapestries. We will learn various techniques for embellishing fabric by printing, stamping, and stitching.
