In today’s digital world, knowing how to prepare your digital photos for use in personal projects, the internet, printed materials, and exhibition applications is more important than ever before. In this class, students will learn to optimize their digital images for the best possible result. Topics to be covered include: re-sizing digital files, sharpening, color correction, contrast adjustment, burning and dodging, adjustment layers, retouching, copyright issues, archiving, backing up files, and working with a webmaster or printer.
Students should bring a laptop loaded with Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements, digital photos of work on a disk or loaded onto the laptop, and a power cord (for use when the laptop battery is exhausted). You’ll leave the workshop with photos of your work ready for your next project.
Prerequisite: basic computer skills.
