This class aims to broaden one’s painting vocabulary by reaching beyond basic techniques and exposing one to unconventional methods of expression and mark making. Venturing into new territory with materials will involve taking risks with unknown outcomes and placing the value of the learning experience on process and discovery. Liquid acrylics, acrylic inks and watercolor will be used on a variety of surfaces. Visual presentations of contemporary artists will be discussed throughout the course, and many examples of new paint applications that achieve dramatic results will be demonstrated.
